Duty in Four Crosses

A mysterious disappearance in the Welsh countryside

PC Jones had never seen anything like it before. The abandoned farmhouse in the rolling hills of Four Crosses was filled with a strange, pungent smell. It was almost as if something had been rotting away inside for weeks, masking any other clues. As she searched for any signs of the missing family, her unease grew. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone - or something - was watching her.

It wasn't until the crack team of forensics arrived that they found anything major. Buried under the floorboards was a hidden cellar, filled to the brim with bloodied tools and strange symbols etched into the walls. The hair on the back of Jones' neck stood up - this wasn't just a missing persons case anymore. Some sort of dark ritual had taken place here, and she had a feeling there was more to come.

Night after night, PC Jones patrolled the quiet country lanes with unease. Her usually keen senses were on high alert, every shadow and rustle making her heart skip a beat. When the next disappearance happened, this time a group of hikers on the local trail, she knew something had to be done. She couldn't shake the feeling that the farm was at the center of it all, and the forensics team had missed something vital.

It was while she was making her nightly rounds that she saw something odd. A light was visible in a window that had been boarded up since they first arrived on the scene. Quietly, she made her way over to the farmhouse once again, her hand on her baton. As she peered inside, she saw a group of cloaked figures huddled around a strange altar. And in the center of it all, lay the missing hikers. It was up to her to put an end to this once and for all.

What followed was the stuff of nightmares. As PC Jones broke into the farmhouse and confronted the cultists, she realized the full extent of their plan - to summon an otherworldly being to do their bidding. In a blur of action, she fought off the cultists and managed to disrupt their dark ritual. As the farmhouse burned to the ground in the aftermath, she could only be grateful that she had made it out alive. But she knew that Four Crosses would never be the same again. The darkness that lurked beneath the peaceful countryside had been uncovered, and she would make sure it never returned.
